Find a spot away from main trails/hunting areas.  Put out five or so pounds of apples and be sure to smash some.  Set up a treestand if youcan, return, watch, repeat.  They have a hard time not coming in to apples if they can smell them, which they can from a long ways away.

I've taken deer in both late and general modern rifle in 667. They are there but like usual the cover is thick and black tails like to hide.

The last 2 years I've deer hunted 667 after the late archery elk season closes and I've always seen alot of deer in there, closing the deal on them has been a different story :bash:. Plan on spending a few days in there after Dec 15th if I don't kill a deer while elk hunting.

I took a buddy in there 1 day this late season to help fill his tag. We went in the middle of the day and spent 4 hours hunting. I ended up getting him 2 different opertunities and seen 6 deer. These deer have been pressured hard the thing is to get away from the people and still hunt areas that get over looked. Small patches of timber inbetween clearcut ( these may only be a couple hundred square yards). Most people go right by them not knowing deer are bedded down in the middle. Harder hunting is the christmas trees but they hold lots of deer. Good Luck!
Remember that buck is climbing that Mt. every day!
