Tips for Beginning Duck Hunters

1)  Don't unload your weapon by pointing it in a random direction and pulling the trigger three times.  There might be someone that direction that you can't see. 

2)  Don't shoot at birds that are 300 yards up, you won't hit them.   

3)  Don't play the kazoo out in the field if you don't know what you're doing.  How about some practice at home?

4)  Try to pick up your spent hulls, we all miss a few every now and then but don't leave a huge pile of garbage for someone else to clean up.  Maybe Mommy cleans your room for you but she ain't coming out here.

Headquarters?  My guess is you spent the day near the big shack on the dike.  As much fun as watching a boat launch on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Actually it was Welts over by Edison but I think all the public sites are about the same.

I scratched out a couple of Mallards but I was seriously thinking that I might get shot and left early, what a circus!  The upland release sites are pretty tame by comparison.

smith farm was good for opening week. but a few groups have staked out all the decent spots and pounded the snot out of them daily. now they sky bust because nothing will come in range.
even weekdays are pretty laughable between the sky busters and crappy callers.

I know what you mean for sure drives me crazy. But it is not always kids. I see middle age guys doing this b.s. as much as our up and coming.

I would agree, most "kids" emulate what they see their mentors doing.
