they are scheduled to start work on it in July of '13.  Have the funding in place....it's a crock though, when they had the fire up on Bald mtn. this summer, they opened it for the fire trucks, then re-closed it after the fire....if it's safe enough to drive a fire truck up (which it is, the washout is very minor) then it should be safe enough to drive a pickup up it...they (Irene) just wanted an excuse to close it because she is anti-motorized use.

haha, so true, you would think that if it was driveable for fire tucks and tenders, then it shouldn't take much funding, but then again it's the forest service so I am sure that they will have to study the study, to me thats where the majority of the money is spent.
go ahead on er.

is it open to walk? or is it closed to everything? just wondering? i hunted up there before the washout but have not been up there for a long time? i wouldnt imagine they would close it for everything.
If you can see it....... you can shoot it.
