Im sure the sheds were picked up as soon as they hit the dirt so lets not all jump on I-90 and head east for any extra weekend adventures. That was the only 200" buck in the unit and now he is gone. Better head to yakima for sheds now.

Congrats to the hunter!! Glad to hear it was earned!!!

Sounds like the words of a guy who shed hunts and puts in the a Desert tag every year.  :chuckle:
The best friend a guy could have asked for. RIP chasing pheasants in heaven Denali girl.

i was already planning on heading up I-90 for sheds this spring anyways. there may not be any more 200 inch shed sbut there are still a bunch up there too find and a lot of nice bucks. i was just up there a couple weeks ago flagging in the desert unit and had a real nice 4x4 pop up by the road about 100 yards away. id say 150-160 inch. the sheds are their like anywhere. just gotta hike. what makes the desert unit a better shed hunting spot is the fact that its draw only. but be prepared for competition. im dont doubt at all that the sheds from that buck werent picked up right after hitting the ground and he was probably watched until they were dropped. i just figured someone on here might have or know who has the sheds and could maybe post a pic. that is a dandy of a buck it will look great on the wall!

Maybe none of you have heard of boneworms. Little know fact that a single boneworm can eat up to 2 lbs of bone a day!!!! Recent studies from the local biologists have shown that that the boneworm population in the desert unit has multiplied significantly over the years. They estimate upwords of 50,000 of them in the 20 by 20  mile radius. With the growing numbers of boneworms in the desert no horn stands a chance of laying more than 2-3 minutes tops. Now if you have a good roping horse you might be able to pull off an antler or two but that is about your only chance anymore.

Hahahahahahahahaha!     :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :chuckle:  :chuckle:

   That is an incredible buck! Absolutely one of God's most beautiful creations! WOW!!!  :yike:

Amazing Buck Link!  Looks like you had a great hunt, and have great friends for helping on the pack out.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.
