Free black lab
« on: November 23, 2012, 12:52:12 PM »
I met an older gentleman at the Granite Falls Sportsman's club turkey shoot who is giving away a trained hunting dog, because he quit hunting.

The dog is an 8 year old black lab. According to the gentleman I spoke to the dog is papered, well trained, a good hunter, and is not an in house dog. He doesn't hunt anymore but wants the dog to go to a good home where it will be able to hunt with it's new owners. Again he is giving the dog away for free.

Unfortunately I couldn't talk my wife into letting me take the dog, but I told the guy I would see if anyone on the forums is interested. If you are interested PM me your info and I will pass it along to the man with the dog.

Now I just can't understand how someone would give away their  8 years old dog because they stopped hunting   :dunno:. It is like give away your wife because you don't want to have sex anymore ..... :chuckle: Maybe someone would take 8 years old dog ,but 55 years old wife ? :yike:
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

Not everyone views dogs as small furry children the way the animal rights types do  :dunno: .... sadly an 8 yr old black dog is what is in more animal shelters so not an easy placement, wish the gentleman luck and if I hear of anyone looking will pass it along

I picked up Ty today!!! What a very nice guy, he was thinking of his dogs future, a class act I'll tell ya.
Along with being AKC, a well trained hunter, he has been chipped to boot. I will spend the next few days getting the single dog kennel made into a double dog kennel. Other than needing a good bath he seems really happy here, gets along great with my yellow lab great, excellent character & has a great repute with his new master. I look forward to many good hunts & hope some of his retrieving knowledge wears off on my spoiled rotten yearling yellow lab.

Thanks so much for putting this up here. Jim Sr,
If I killed every thing I shot at, I'd be Phat!!!
