One day hunt
« on: November 25, 2012, 01:32:46 PM »
I was able to get out on Friday for a hunt. I worked my butt off for the birds but I did find them. I also got a teal. It was his first duck and water retrieve. He loves the water but I've never shot anything for him to retreive from. It was my second limit of pheasant sor far this year.

Nice!  now do you suspect those could be wild birds?

No they were all released birds. They acted more like wild then pen birds though.

Well done! I have only limited twice also. I think I can see a plastic ring on one pheasant leg, were they all that way? One more question, what kind of dog is that?

Yes they all had plastic bands. Not sure what he is. I think he may be chessie and a short hair of some sort. When his hair is wet it curls up like a chessie. He also has webbed feet. He doesn't point but has the short hair body and fur.

I have 2 choc labs and your dogs eyes look like the same color as mine. I was noticing his shorter hair. That short hair looked like a solid dark brown German shorthair my grandpa had. I bet a lab or chessy bred to a German shorthair would be good!
