Potions tricks to restore pad
« on: December 08, 2012, 07:44:41 PM »
Somehow in the yard, the dog lost a pad from the rear leg. It is now all bandaged up.
Any ideas on how to speed healing and get a thick pad back? Any potions? Pad thickeners?
How long does it take?

Thanks

Is it cut? or just abraded off?I've got some crap called "pad heal" that smells like poo but works pretty dang good at healing them up.Couple years ago in south dakota the ice shredded one of my dogs pads,I cleaned it all up and put that crap on there and lightly bandaged it overnight, she took the next day off and the day after was good to go again,it bled that day too but the dog has always overridden pain for the thirst of birds.I've been told bleach will dry em up and make em tough in a hurry,I wouldn't suggest that method if it's cut however.Mine all live in a kennel with a light broom finish it keeps the nails in check and condtions the pads at the same time,The pressure washer negates any issues with the poo.

 :yeah:

By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
