It was good to see you over there, I was excited to see your boys get their tags notched. I bet they are already looking forward to next year.

So here's my story...I'll let my boys tell you there's.

We were glassing from one of my favorite spots ans saw this buck and his doe. 1st thing the boys want to do is take off and go get him. I told them to relax and lets see what they do, hopefully they'd bed down. The doe bedded down 2 times, but the buck kept bugging her and getting her up. Finally they both bed down after about a hour. I tell Kasey to stay there and video tape things since he had shot his the day before. Bryce and I take off down the backside of the hill and get the wind right, we get down towards the botton and I let him know the plan, if it's 40 yards or closer he can shoot, anything else and I will, he agrees and we continue on. We slowly creep up over the small ridgeline and I see the buck in his bed facing us at 90. Too far, I tell Bryce to crawl back and go down the ridge further. We do and creep back up, this time he's 74 yards. We back up and move again down the ridge and peek back over, this time he's at 67 but see's one of us move and stands up. I pull back and slowly move around the sage brush we're behind. He's kinda quartering towards us so I put my 60 high on shoulder and squeeze the trigger. At the shot he jumps, but the arrow hits him high about mid body. He runs down hill out of sight. I run down the hill and dont see him anywhere, I see a 2 pt looking below me and can hear something moving. I peek over and there is my buck piled up. The arrow went in high, under the spine through that artery, through the kidneys and came out the opposite hind quarter and cut the femoral. He was done in seconds. Those shuttle T's are nasty.
It was a great experience to be able to share with my boys. I'll get them on later to share their hunts!
