Daughters muzzy doe
« on: December 02, 2012, 06:55:56 AM »
My baby girl tagged out yesterday on her doe. Last weekend we saw a lot of bucks but couldnt get into range since they we just chasin does too hard this weekends weather has them bedded tight so we never saw a buck on saturday so with work/school schedule and the crappy forcast she decided a doe will be fine. We found three does bedded at 170 yards which she didnt feel comfortable with so we snuck to a small hill a little closer and got to 120, problem was that we were looking directly into the sun and they were in the shade so it was just to hard to find the biggest doe and to see if there was a buck staying with them. We backed out and snuck to a little higher spot that would allow us to see them easier. It turns out we got even closer. We got to 75 yards and we could see there were no bucks. She decided shed take the doe. We had to wait for her to turn broadside and she dropped the hammer and the the Barnes Spitfire TMZ absolutely dropped her in her tracks. Alyssa made a perfect heart/double lung shot and the hunt was over. Thats Alyssa's second deer. Her first was when she was 10 then she struck out for a couple years and gave up on hunting till this year. So at 19 she's back in the game ready to give her younger sister a run for her money. Way to go Alyssa!! Great shooting!!
