Backyard blackie
« on: December 02, 2012, 04:53:34 PM »
Put out my first game camera. Over the course of 6 days I captured some alright photos of some deer moving around at night. Doe came through two nights in a row. The buck came through just the one night. I'm new at this game, so any pointers on how to narrow down their movement patterns and possibly hone in the buck would be appreciated.

If there is wind remove those hanging branches, bushes as they will trigger the cam when moving in the wind. Set your cam to 3 or more photos with a min or so between each group of shots. If you have it set to say 1 photo you might get the nose of the deer as he enters the detection zone. But with it set at 3 your chances of the whole deer, better angle of antlers is better. Make sure your bait is far enough out in front of the cam so you get the whole body and not just the deer bent over or if he stands up it cuts his head off. Good pics to start with.
