Trail Cam Question
« on: December 17, 2012, 03:32:56 PM »
Anyone on here have a game camera that emails you the pic when taken? I am looking into getting one and I am looking for info. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Robby

I did some work with a group that live trapped elk and they had a camera that when detected motion it would send a text to a predetermined phone number.  Then they could then log onto a computer and see what the camera was seeing.  They used it to detect if something had triggered the live trap, so they could reset or collar the elk, so they were not in the trap for extended periods of time.

I do not recall the name of the camera, just that it required it's own cell phone plan....

first u need to know if u have cell reception where the cam is going, where I could use cams like this the most I dont have cell phone service. Plus if you are going to use bait or just watch a trail? this makes a huge difference in price as u pay for the amount of images a month. The last time I looked at moultrie site 900 pics was like $90 a month! no thanks as I get 900 pics in 4 days on most cams

Thanks for the info. I was averaging 500 pics a week so this might not be cost effective.
