Poll: Have you stolen a trail camera
« Reply #90 on: December 06, 2012, 10:48:36 AM »
And all this time I thought you guys had the same bad luck I've been having over the years  :chuckle:
:chuckle:

Thread jacked.....story or lack there of is in the Manson buck thread and when I get a pic of the thing I'll post it.

back to topic.   We all have to learn that what we post is going to be seen by thousands and evaluated by thousands just like yourself.   Wrong, right, good or bad.  We have to learn that now.  Welcome to the age of the internet.   I can understand if its too much pressure to post.   Opinions are plentiful.  If you want to have one and share it, you get the priviledge of allowing someone else the same and it might be different than yours.   A campfire of 10 has been extended to a fire of 10,000.  Since my fire usually has 1 by it, I understand more than you guys might think I do.    HOWEVER, there are more than 10,000 authors with stories an photos to "this magazine" and its mostly ALL LOCAL.
Amen!   I was just thinking along these very same lines. I've sat down at fires with friends and strangers and everybody shares stories good and bad, while we enjoy a drink coffee what ever (even weed), usually there is that one guy trying to one-up everybody's story's. But Never ever ever  are there these Stick up there A$$ Internet Do gooders.

And yes I do admit I got hot when this random nobody attacked my story! And in real life it probably never would have happened.

So my bad for overreacting

Weird how that works with the difference between random people and friends, on the forums or in the woods.

I have never stolen any.  I do have an entire collection that was left on public lands which makes them fair game.

 :chuckle:

Come on guys, you need to write the question so you can flush out the guys that "don't consider it theft" when taking something from public land.  We know there are guys on here that admitted to it in the past.  You know they "steal".

We found one put up by some Total greenhorn right on an old overgrown road 5 min walk from the main road in a secret honey hole close to Maple Vally, pretty sure this newbie had followed me in just days Pryor. Wiped his SD card clean and gave him the bird and maybe Bare assed him??? Then left the camera off as a lesson.  2010
Always curious if he was on this site?
a lesson on what? Being an azzhat? Why would you screw with someone else's gear? How is turning it off going go teach him anymore then seeing your picture on his camera. Complete *censored* move...

THOSE pics would have been posted.

Be nice BK
Bone this site ain't what it used to be! Remember when I first joined 3-4 years ago? I used to post all my pics and Videos of Mammoth Bulls and deer and tell stories with out being ridiculed!
Have you notices I Haven't shared a single picture lately or even post my deer elk bird harvests the last few years?
To many weirdos on here now man

BK, you are not the only one noticing this.. I know several old timers like us on the forum that refuse to post pics and stories anymore....  to many D!@k measuring arguements about measurements, orange, what unit, etc.... So I have to say I agree with you on this statement 100% ....  This forum is NO WHERE NEAR the great place it was when we joined.....  But that is to be expected unfortunately, when you go from 1500 members to over 12,000...  You lose all that informal family atmosphere, and camaraderie.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

BUT.......if we were sitting by the fire, I would have told you that wasn't a very nice thing for you to do eventhough I hate the damn things.   I would have pointed out that it could have been some 85 year old man and thats as far as he could get out, it could have been some vet that lost a leg or eye or was on crutches from an injury at war, or it could have been someone that knew that was actually one hell of a deer crossing like the one on Blewtt pass by scotch creek that sees several 180+ bucks walk across the hiway in the same spot every year.   It might have been better recieved in person by the fire than on here.    :)

Thanks Hunt bear and Bone,  I'll try and curtail my comments to only the most angelic of selfless acts for our demigod friends on here.

I hear that alot.  There are lots of good folks on here too.   I didn't post my hunt on here this year as I figured I would have to deal with crap or I didn't want to contribute to the crap by my negativity of the adventure, I was pleasantly surprised of the support actually.

Your not going to get any support from me Bone!!! I look forward to reading about your adventures every year. You seem to be able to document (photographically) your hunts unlike most and they are always an interesting read.

Just giving you a hard time. I, like most, would obviously love to see the pics and hear the story but understand the hesitation. Any chance you will post up some pics without a story? maybe just in the 2012 bucks thread.

Yea I would like to see it too Bone so I can determine where it is drive to the exact spot and wait for another deer to come out as they ALWAYS travel in the same area year after year!! :chuckle:

I'm sorry that I think messing  with someone else's stuff is wrong. If that makes me a demigod, internet do gooder, internet cop, etc. Then so be it. If you think that then I would hate to see who you consider a normal guy. I guess I was just raised different. I don't think I would want to share a campfire with someone I couldn't trust alone with my stuff....

I hate that I feel compelled to even respond to you once again, but quite honestly I'd rather talk to you face to face!  We're both Westsiders, why not meet up with me today after work and I'll take you to this Very same spot and show you exactly the scenario.
Perhaps a little reality check would do you some good instead of sitting they're judging me.
Seriously lets go. Tomorrow you can jump back on here and say " hey I was wrong and kinda a pompous prick and Dave's a good guy and WOW who would have put there camera there???
