A huge buck will jump and go about a half a damn step and hunker down, a doe will head for parts unknown, after huntn the grey ghost for many years I know this all to well, a lot of time a big buck beds on stuff where he can move a very short distance and hide in plain sight, if you jump a buck and you see him hunker down, you will have to go right at him, the longer you give him the further he will crawl his sly butt away, and a lot of times you will walk right to the spo where he should be standing and then you will see a tiny piece of him standing or laying just feet away, do not make eye contact if you can, look above him and scan while your raising your gun or bow, good luck to ya

I have watched b.t. bucks lay their head down in the ferns in hopes that you will just walk by. I have walked to within feet of them bedded down before busting them. As said they often will not go far. My uncle shot one last year that he jumped and listened to it move away. He heard it stop he estimated 100 yards or so away from him. Me moved forward 40 yards quickly then stopped and started glassing heavily ahead of him. Took him about half an hour and 20 more yards to find him bedded down again in the ferns next to a log. Spotted the white ring around his eye through the brush. One shot at 40 yards and done.
So, based on what everybody has said...there weakness is this? When u find/jump them, they react by being sneaky if they don't see or smel you that is...so work where u find them...1. Super slow with binos2. Staying downwind3.if u hear them moving go downwind quick to possibly catch them trying to find ur scent4. But if it Is a buck stop and glass 5. As swartzeneger said...if it bleeds u can kill it.On it...
Cut 100 yds downwind real quickly, sometimes you'll catch them circling back to get behind you.
