My Muzzy Elk Permit starts next weekend
« on: December 07, 2012, 06:23:33 PM »
Now that I have my 4 point whitetail that I took last weekend with my quality hunt muzzy permit, I am headed to the blues for a cow which starts next week. Hopefully the weather will start cooperating with cooler temps and maybe some snow.
Snow will make it easier to drag elk quarters back to the truck.
I remember the good old days when I could pack the quarters out on my back.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

It's opposite for me. When I was younger I could/would drag. Now that's too much work and I just have to get it up on my back. For me the bending over is what hurts.

Good luck. Looks like you will have some snow.

Bobcat, I could pack on my back, but my back surgeon said I have a 30 pound limit.
That is a lot of round trips.

Isn't it harder on your back to be bent over and pulling that weight? I know it is for me.

I heard forecast for a good amount of snow in the Blues this weekend.

I have one of those tarp sleds with a harness. It works great in plowed fields.

The watershed is a tough place to hunt. Mike, you are only a few years older than me. I did not know there were people on this site that were older. The areas I will be hunting are not steep.
