Wolf hunting Sawtooth Zone
« on: December 09, 2012, 01:18:57 PM »
Because of family obligations, I'll be in Boise for five days around Christmas. It looks like a decent amount of wolves are killed in the Sawtooth zone; 12 so far and 48 left to go. I'd like to oblige Idaho and bring that number down a little bit.

I've never spent any time in that country, so I'd be going in totally blind. Does anyone have any general areas they'd be willing to hand out that wolves are in normally? I'm not looking for ultra specifics...though who wouldn't want someone else to kill a wolf, right?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing your going to visit relatives soo... I would tell the family to put some feelers out for you! Since an out of state tag it is... $30??? and since i couldn't imagine ANY farmer/rancher saying NO to a wolf/coyote hunter i'd have the Family do some Recon for you.  :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

One family member is an occasional horseback hunter. He said he has some general ideas where some packs are, which is good starter info. Just seeing what you all had to say, hoping someone has hunted deer or elk there...or even wolves. $30 is an affordable day in the mountains exploring, wolves or not. I sure would like to get one some, just to do it.

The tag cost 30 but the license is 150 so a total of 180
