Lightly bury one of those giant bearclaw traps where he has to step on the trigger to get to one of your smaller traps

Yeah, let's not suggest this...  :nono:

Yes, I am trapping in a pubic area 3 miles long 1/2 mile wide. Small parking area at the south end.

Let's not suggest those big "bearclaw" traps as they are worth too much money to be wasting on some lowlife.

hopefully I solved this problem by moving all my traps.

No I'm not enough to have served in Nam, but I know what pungi sticks are and the ground is either swamp or rock.

Is a rat a beaver? Or a muskrat. Sorry for the stupid question just see trappers talk about rats and never know what they mean.

Well I just bought a couple cage traps for beaver...not cheap.  Set one out in a small creek >:( off the road a ways...gone first check.  I heard a rig drive by on the logging road while I was setting.  It would have been hard to find if you weren't looking.  There are so many opportunistic losers around these days.

What type of cage? Could it have washed away? Got pulled away? I have found mine down stream several times. Put out the word. Certain kinds are rare so if someone comes up with one it would be VERY easy to find out if he bought it.
