well we went out Saturday morning and sat in a nice clear cut with a lot of berries until about 12. we didn't see anything there so we decided to drive around and look for more fresh sign. after not much luck we drove back around the first area where we have found the most amount of scat and berries. at about 4 pm we were driving past an area and my cousin spotted this bear standing in a clear cut about 250 yards away. i handed him my 7mm (his gun was in the back under everthing
) and he got a rest on a stump. my cousins first shot looked like he got him good but he was still standing running uphill so he fired one more and the bear disappeared into the timber. we got up there and he didn't go far, maybe 20 feet. it turns out he hit him on the first shot, double lunged him and got a piece of the heart. those new winchester XP3's rock! we got lucky again with another pack down hill. looks like its time to do some deer scouting.
