Stuck on 150 again this week.  I am starting a 3 day fast/cleanse to see if I can break through the plateau and get dropping again.     Really want to be in the 140's!

Change your workout plan.  If you've been doing the same thing for a while, add some interval work and maybe some weightlifting.  That'll do more to get you through a plateau than fasting.  All that does is slow your metabolism down even more.

JLS, my workouts are a combination of cardio and lifting.  I rotate through about 10 workout dvd's so I'm not sure how I might change my workout and further.  I've considered running, but I'd have to go somewhere to run, no place around our home.  But 2 days into my cleanse and I'm 148, I'll take that.

Change some of your workouts so that they are higher intensity, or do the interval thing and go low intensity-medium intensity-high intensity followed by a brief rest period.  Then, do it all over again.  Don't do intervals more than twice a week.

A lot of the weight you lose from cleanses is just retained water.  Do you keep a food diary of what you eat during the day?  If you're still plateaued, you might look at doing this.  Sometimes we can make huge strides by really watching what we eat, it can be an eye opener for sure.

Good luck.

Ok, well I'm still at 150 again this week.  Didn't post last week.   :yike:  So I have been doing tons more cardio and less weights to try and see if I am just lifting too much and gaining muscle intstead of loosing weight.  I also went from doing a 30 minute workout to 40 minutes.  I don't keep a food diary, but I'm really strict about what I eat and I rarely cheat.  And if I do it is something simple like a small handful of chips or maybe 1 small cookie.  But other than that, I eat mainly protein and fruits and vegy's.  I decided I'd be brave and post a picture from this morning after my workout.  So the beat red face is from that.  :)

IBSpoiled,

If you have the time, throw in a day a week where you do a long endurance workout.  Your HR should be about 70% of max, and try to work up to about a 90 minute or more workout.

Variety is the spice of life when it comes to fitness.  Keep up the good work 8)

JLS, that might be tough!  I am a stay at home mom that homeschools our kids and I do have the other half of IBspoiled to take care of also.  Not including all the chores around our farm of horses, goats, dogs, chickens etc.  But I will try.  Thanks for the suggestions.   ;)

Heart palps are gone and so is the Coreg CR and Girl Scout cookies.  Dangit!  Now I'm stuck on 225.  Doc told me to go out and get a bunch of Mrs. Dash seasonings to reduce my sodium intake.  He says that will bust another 5 off this week.  Should be depressed and lighter by next weekend :chuckle:  Suppose to ease into cardio workouts again too so that should help as well.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

218 this morning, -13 total so far.

^Radsav, I might try that as well, I forgot about Mrs Dash and it sounds like it might be delicious on some chicken. My food is so bland/boring I have to force myself to eat, I've basically cut out as much sodium from my diet as possible.

150 This is getting almost depressing!  I've increased my workouts from 30 minutes to 40 not counting warm up and cool down.  I also did a 30 minute cardio this week, followed by a 3 HOUR hike with hubby.  Our hikes are all uphill and all downhill on the way back so 1 1/2 hours both ways.  My legs felt really strong and I kept my wind, so I know I'm getting in great shape.  Just wish I could blast through my platue.  Here is a typical day of eating for me.  Oatmeal for morning maybe 1/2 cup, with a spoonful of coconut oil (good omega fat) a spoonful of honey and small amount of milk.  Big salad for lunch with homecanned chicken and homemade fat burning dressing on it.  Dinner is usually elk meat or chicken and vegy or popcorn with no butter and only small amount of salt.  I try not to eat after 6pm.  So hmmmmmmmmmm, I guess I'm stuck!   :bash:
