Barrows are one of the birds I tried for years to shoot. Then one day two drakes came out of nowhere, doubled. Now they are bound for the wall.

Fillet them like a walleye. Cut through the skin and straight down the breast bone, fillet breast off of bone, then flip the breast sideways and fillet off the skin. Kinda hard to explain, easier to show.

not tryin to bust anyone chain but isnt the limit 2 goldeneye a day per person.
i only hear of two hunters which would be 3 times the daily limit per hunter having a total of 12.
i believe im reading this right.
just letting you know for the future trips
His location says spokane so odds are he was hunting the eastside where the 2 goldeneye rule doesnt apply. They just count to your daily limit of 7. Still not sure why they are considered sea ducks on the west side anyways.

YA i didn't have the regs handy and am used to it being two on the west side and wasn't sure if it was the the same limit on the east. wasn't trying to come off as a game patroller on here either. sorry i was wrong and should have checked first. I do know the sea duck authorization is required for them on the west side and don't understand that either but picked it up anyways and glad i did. Ended up going to one of My secret spots"""" :chuckle: on a lake and got a surf scoter hen and barrows goldeneye drake there in the same day. really wierd to see a scoter in a fresh water lake like that. not seeing any puddle ducks but am starting to see sea ducks. :dunno:
anyways congrats on a good hunt
