Eastside/King County bowhunting
« on: January 18, 2013, 06:13:14 PM »
Just moved last summer, and with the crazy year at work, I wasn't able to get out and scout for areas to hunt more than a small handfull of times. Here's my first question:

I bowhunt for elk around Ashford, but does anyone know of a nice general area to bowhunt near Tiger Mountain? I'm not looking for any secret spots, just not really sure where one can hunt around here, and it would be nice to find a nice day hunt spot closer to home. I've scouted Taylor Mountain a little, saw 6 vehicles parked at the DNR gate, so guessing that's a popular spot.

Secondly, not really a question, but if anyone's looking for or interested in a hunting, trapping or scouting partner in the general King county area, shoot me a pm. Always looking to meet folks to share good times with.

Cheers

Tiger and all of Hwy 18 gets hammered hard with hunters.

If you wanted to stay around Renton/S King County I would go out to Ravensdale/Cumberland/Kanasket area. Good amount of public lands, but not hit as hard as Hwy 18

I was trying to look around in that area that bigtex was talking about in the late season.  I hunted Tiger on the east side in the late season didn't see much of anything.  Welcome to the site and I am sure we will have a get together again in the area again.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to get out towards Cumberland and check it out. I can imagine Tiger gets hit pretty hard no matter the season, or have you noticed it to be mainly during modern firearm?
