I like Ramshot Xterminator powder for 55 grain .223 loads.  Tac is better for heavier bullets.

The bulk Varmint Nitemare bullets from Midsouth Shooters Supply are plenty accurate, and very inexpensive.

Don't have a .300 wsm, or load for it, so I can't offer anything there....
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

If you're just starting to reload for the 223, think out side the box on powders. You're going to have a hard time finding any Varget (one of my favorite powders in the 223) because everybody is panic buying. Here a a couple of powders I've had good luck with in the 223:

Benchmark
IMR 4198
H322
H335
Ramshot TAC
IMR 4064
Reloader 7
AA 2230

In the 300 WSM I use either H4350 or Reloader 17. For hunting bullets I like either the Barnes TTSX (168-180gr) or the 180 Nosler Accubond. For target work check out the Berger Hybrids if you can find them. I haven't found a 300 WSM (worked with 6 different rifles) yet that wouldn't shoot under 1" using these components.

I've had good results with IMR 4350 for my 300 WSM and H335 for. 223. I have been wanting to get some Varget but havent had a chance yet. It looks good.

Don't have one but used a 300wsm on my moose.  300+ yard shot and the one bullet recovered looked great, the other two punched through including the double lung first shot.  The second two shots were not needed but the guide did not know where the first hit.  They were 165 gr bullets.  I've used 4350 with my -06 to good effect.  Hope any of this helps.

I'd start at 23.5gr and work up to about 25.5gr of Varget in the 223. That's the average load range in the 3 manuals I just checked.

It's not ideal in the 300 WSM, but Varget will work pretty well for the lighter bullets (165 and under) in the 300 WSM as well.

Check out Hodgdon's reloading data.

H335 is my fave for the 223. Imr4198 is a close 2nd for me.

Magpro or one of the Reloader powders for the 300 WSM
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
