and by the way smartass we get 1 elk and 1 deer a year most of us  , not 20 elk and 20 deer. get a clue thief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a dangerous but important topic; not just as far as wildlife is concerned but their are much bigger and more important societal implications as well.  I probably should stay out of this one but I'll reluctantly enter the fray.
First off; did a lot of unfair and deplorable things happen to many Native americans in the past?  Absolutely, and I'm ashamed of that; much like I'm ashamed of all the other *censored*ty things men have done to each other since the beginning of time.  Now, that being said, just about all Americans have ancestors who were cheated, ripped off, oppressed, etc.  our country was founded by people who fled their homeland to escape tyranny, oppression, discrimination,  and hostility.  Likewise, their are many ethnic and religious groups that have suffered despicable treatment since they've been here. 
So, here's the rub.  For how many generations do we try to right these wrongs with money and special concessions  and are we really doing the affected groups any favors by making them victims?  It's been my observation that the longer society babies people or groups, the more dependent they become and ambition, self sufficiency, and personal accountability decrease.  This isn't just a reservation problem, but also a societal problem as politically our well intended entitlement programs have created many "welfare reservations". Personally, I think people have an innate instinct to fight and overcome and if you let them they'll grow stronger as a result. 
The Indians were once a wonder in self sufficiency and we not only wronged them with our actions years ago, but have continued to oppress them by paying them reparations.  As a whole, I think mist individuals in these tribes would be better off today had we not made then "sovereign nations". There are certainly other historical examples that support my hypothesis. 
The Mormons were driven from ohio by mobs into illinois and Missouri.  Their land and businesses were stolen from them, yet the drained a swamp, chiseled out farms, founded the city of Navou and others, and became prosperous and industrious again.  Then, they were driven from these states by extermination order to Utah where they again prospered in an area most at the time viewed as uninhabitable.
The moral of all this, they never allowed themselves to be victims!  They overcame the ill treatment of others and got stronger by fighting through these trials.  To this day, no effort has ever been made to compensate Mormons for their ancestors loses and I guarantee you they'll never ask for it or expect it!(which is too bad because their ground in Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri is probably full of whitetail:-)
There are many other examples of this I just use the Mormons as one example.

So, instead of trying to stick it to the white man for actions of the past, ask yourself if it is really in anyone's best interest!  Everybody on this site loves big game, that is why they're here posting and that is why they put their money and time into hunting.  There are already enough people out there that want to stop hunting.  Lets not fan the flames by practicing and condoning unethical and unsustainable hunting practices. 

Lastly, to my native friends, I'm not trying to be another white guy yelling at you.  My step mom is a member of the flathead tribe in Montana and she shares many of the same views I do and I know most of you are probably good, ethical sportsman so please help us advocate sustainable game management practices so our grandkids will get to enjoy hunting as well.  I'm sorry to spend so much time ranting about politics on a hunting board but after 12 pages I couldn't take it anymore.  I hope to see you all on the mountain!

What everyone is trying to get at is that meat hunters don't purposely kill the bucks/bulls. Your treaty says you can hunt these lands but there needs to be common sense as part of the process.

When you're out hunting how many more does do you see than bucks? There are days where I see 20 does and no bucks. I'd love to be allowed to hunt to put food on the table year round without a harvest limit, which would make the vast majority of my kills does.

Funny you say that! Most times, I'd agree, I see more does than bucks. Not this year! Oh the horror of being buck picky.
