So what does everyone use to paint their guns...i want to paint the slide od green...is there a special paint to use?

For all of my guns I use the rustoleum camo paint.. seems to work fine every once in a while ill touch them up. Also try this site   http://www.lauerweaponry.com/

I thought about duracoat...i got a guy that would do it for a good price but i wanted to see what guys are using for a diy paintjob....the rustoleum works pretty good? Could you post up a pic of one of yours?

I intended to use clearcoat with some automotive pearlescence.....bought all the stuff including the duracoat just havent managed to get around to doing this....too many other projects for school and stuff....

duracoat has worked very well for me.. I ordered the kit that comes with the aerosol, and if you can krylon something you can do that, just have to be diligent about degreasing beforehand, and masking off/covering what you dont want finish on. (on the last pistol I did i field stripped it, wrapped the barrel in saranwrap, then reassembled, so the barrel hood was covered.. ) think it cost me less than 30$, and I did about 4 guns..

might look at gun kote, it is spray on and then you have to heat it for a certain time.  I tried to use a bbq for a rifle, but the barrel was too long.

I've used gun kote on 3 of my AR's.   The instructions say to make sure you're happy before you bake it, they say the only way to remove the coating is with by sand blasting.... They're not kidding.  It's good stuff.

You can send it in to a place like northwest hydro dip. I would have to look at my paper work but I think they are doing cerakote and that is what I would do.
