The only one that I ever looked through was on a hunting partners' friend's rifle, and the only thing I didn't like about it was that it seemed awfully dark. That said, maybe it was one of the dud's that I was looking through.  I do like the power range though!

I'm always tinkering with new loads too, so I prefer the basic MOA turrets to the custom ones like Huskemaw offers, or the CDS of Leupold.  I just print out a new chart for the load and I'm ready to go.

I have one and think they are great. This system works very well. But it does take practice. It eliminates hold over and helps with holding for wind.

I have the 5x20 on my 6.5x284 .  on my first trip out it shoot a sub 2 inch group at 400 yards ( after break in ) mine has the angle finder and level kit aswell . the thing that I really like is the wind value holds on the turret , this makes it quicker than doing the math . the only down fall is if you want to change loads you nned new turrets . my 30-378 will most likley get one to. Claude at the shooters shop in Grahm can set it up for you . he did mine and it's right on .

I'm putting one on a Weatherby 30-378 Mark V right now. Buddy in WA loves his, has several and he is setting it up for me. Really looking forward to it. Bergers 230gr Hybrids are the bullet choice.

I shoot NF, MK 4 Leupold and Huskemaw on several different rifle and calibers.  I have nothing but good to say about all three.  My 338 RUM is set up with Huskemaw and I love it.  Great hunting scopes and they are working on getting them set up for the tactical shooters.  I highly recommend a Huskemaw.

I own 2.  Guns are ...?  The Leupys are a nice with the CDS if you don't plan on shooting farther than 600yds.  I  know guys will argue, but they don't account for enough variables when building the turret.  Sure you can hit targets at 800-900, but definately not with the precission of a Husk or NF.

account for enough variables? They are variables... how can you account for somthing that is constantly changing? I hav hunted mule deer at 2300 feet 65 degrees and 7500 feet and 22 degreeson the same day. There is no custom calibrated turret that will he near accurate at both conditions. Give me moa dial, and a kestrel any day over a calibrated yardage turret.
I dont have experience with huskemaw but would guess their quality to be worth the price. Like most mid to upper end optics. I just dont have much use for a calibrated yardage turret.
Yes, i have one and out to 500 yards it is usually close enough but past that imo the conditions will change too much.

If your turret has both MOA marks and Yardage Marks do you prefer to:

1) Range, and use chart or phone to calculate changes for temp, elevation and/or barometric and then dial the MOA ?

or

2) Range with a Rangefinder that automatically accounts for changes in temp, elevation, and/or barometric and then dial the adjusted MOA or Yardage ?

If prefer Option 1 then MOA/Mil is best.  If you prefer option 2 it doesn't matter what the marks are in.

The only difference between the methods IMO is the ballistic calculator is built in to the rangefinder on the second option and accuracy comes down to whether the built-in calculator can be programmed to be as good as an external chart/calculator and the level of confidence in either.

Exactly that for variables I was referring to. I simply switch out a turret if plan on hunting at an elevation and temperature change. Takes 20 seconds. Range, simple windmeter check if needed, and bang.

Thats not really different than me entering wether into my calculator amd creating a quick spreadsheet as conditions change. Most diference is i dont have a pocket of $100 dollar turrets. Just a $110 kestrel and a free phone app.
Fwiw i have tried custom turrets amd have gone back to moa and a calculator. Works better for me.

I do a lot of custom gun setups and I've done quite a few huskemaws. That being said I've had 3 over the last 4 years that I've had to send back cause of turett problems and tracking problems. I started doing mostly night force and I've never had a problem one. My advice spend a little more and get a whole lot more of a scope. Tip 2 get a night force one piece base and ring combo, they rock. Scopes are only as good as your foundation and night force one piece base and ring combo is the only foundation I put under every gun I setup.
