Turkey Shotgun ????

Anybody have any input good or bad on this gun? H and R 12 guage long range full choke, single shot. Thinkin it would make a fun turkey shooter! Turkey time is a comin and we's gots to gets ready!!! Thanks!

A hunting partner of mine had a H&R shotgun similar to the one you described and it worked for him.  It was light, nice to carry and shot well, but the lighter weight also resulted in more recoil than from a heavier gun.

Some would argue that you'd be better suited to have a follow-up shot (i.e. don't use a single shot) available for turkey hunting.  That could be true the other side of the argument is that we should all (regardless of our weapon of choice) be selecting only high quality shots anyway, in which case you'll probably never need that second shot.  I suppose this decision will come down to personal preference really, if you like the gun and it shoots well for you then it will probably be great.

Thanks for the reply. I might get it and do some field testin for range and pattern. The recoil part did cross my mind. Be curious on that. Can always add a better pad of course.
