Duck ID Question??? The Mohawk duck
« on: December 19, 2012, 09:08:08 PM »
I saw a pair of ducks I have not seen before, they had a red head with a mohawk and narrow bills.  I am thinking some kind of diver duck?  I know this should be a easy question to a lot of you but I tried find a answer/picture of one via google but could only get regular redhead ducks.

a hen redbreasted and hen common look very similar.  The hen hooded doesnt have as distinct coloration as the other two.
I would guess common just based on numbers..
the google link from 92xj should confirm that.
