Armalite AR 15 flat top 20" barrel, QUESTION?
« on: December 21, 2012, 04:46:16 PM »
I know someone that was fortunate enough to pick one of these up this week and we are trying to figure out the barrel twist on it? We don't see it on the side of the barrel. All it really says in .223/5.56.

Does anyone know what the barrel twist is on them? Could a gun smith tell them?

thanks
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

You can do it the old fashioned way and run a rod through it and find out how many inches it takes to make a full rotation.  The best thing though is to not worry too much and just pick some different ammo and find out what Shoots best in it.

If I had to guess it would be a 1 in 9 twist. :dunno:

I was looking on midway today, they still had some in stock. I think they had some 50 packs of 52g hpbt by hornady. Pretty decent price as well.

It could also be an 8 twist but 8 or 9 don't matter much, if ya want it, get it now.
