Foxpro preset buttons?
« on: December 25, 2012, 09:13:52 AM »
So I just got my first Foxpro for Christmas!  :IBCOOL: I am wondering what others have selected to be their presets? I will be looking to hunt predators (coyotes/bobcat) if that helps. I was also curious as to how many people have called in a mountain lion with their Foxpro? Thanks

i have the firestorm w/ foxbang so i make preset 1 the ki yi or some kind of coyote distress and then a lot of the times i will throw in magpie sounds in my breaks between rabbit or coyote sounds so that is what my preset 2 is on now.

If your foxpro has Foxbang, set the sensitivity to the least sensitive setting.  My  manual said to set the sensitivity to "medium" or it will get set off by the least tap of the remote against something.  set mine to "medium" and it's still too sensitive to inadvertant taps.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

I have the firestorm also and my presents are the free sound available from FoxPro the Coyote KI YI for my Foxbang sound and the Coyote pups distress as Preset 2.
Wish I could help with whether it would call in  Cougar or not but haven't had the chance to give it a try yet I have all the cougar sounds so hopefully it will on the foxpro site there are some pictures of some cougars called in using the Mt Lion in heat sound
All hunting now is going to be with snowshoes around here if the person gets out of the rig at all.
Congrats on the Christmas present good hunting
Protect that remote from any accidental bumps or the foxbang will activate

I have "Pup Distress" on my foxbang, so even if it gets set off by accident, it doesn't really hurt anything.  My favorite call is the "Coyote Group Yip/Howl".  Sounds like a whole family of coyotes going off at once.  Something that is difficult to do with mouth calls.

Thanks guys! I got the Foxpro Wildfire 2, so it does have foxbang. I'll definitely keep the bumping of the remote to a minimum.
