I got a message from him yesterday.  He was close but no cigar.  He said he was going to Idaho hunting and then back to Montana.  We shall see...

Thanks guys.  So far no bone on the ground for me.  Lots in the bush.  I played tag with aconservative 350 for about 4 hours but he just outfoxed or outmuscled me.  Had a 300 bull at 40 but the wind changed at last second and gone....had a 280 at a hundred yards but he wouldn't budge and I couldnt get to him.  I had several rags or small bulls at 20 yards or less but just couldn't let one fly.  I was too deep and too committed for anything less than a 300, though that 280 may have died.  I liked his black antlers.    I came home stinky and beat.  Now I am gathering up my old partner and headed for Idaho.  I am hoping for a quick kill so I can get back to Montana.  Hornseeker and I had a great time.  He is headed back in and I hope my reports help him tag out.  The game isn't done yet, but its looking bleak for Montana unless Idaho goes good.  Keep up the well wished.  I really appreciate it guys.

Thanks guys.  I hope to slice and dice one soon.  Might even have to sneak across the border and fill that tag too.  Nothing like having a tag for both sides of the line.  :)  Good luck Bear, you too Passion, and anyone else headed over there.

Sounds like quite the adventure Doug!  Good luck in Idaho and if I wasn't on the high hunt next week, then yeah I'd gladly come help you pack something out!  That is if I could hunt with ya for a lil while, always wanted to tag along on one of your trips!   :chuckle:
