Boyd Iversons Blacktail Tactics Book
« on: December 22, 2012, 03:00:12 PM »
Came across it on Amazon today and have heard of it before but figured i would ask around and see if it is a book worth buying. Looks like the first book is way expensive but the 2nd one he put out is only $30.00 i belive. Like i said just wondering if it is a book worth spending money on or not ? Need all the help i can get. LOL

also , anyone know a good place to find a used copy that might be a little cheaper ?

The 2nd book is basically an expanded version of the 1st. It is the bible as far as I'm concerned.

It's on my X-mas list! Kind of tired of blackies making me look like a rookie!

Buy the second book. They are both good but he's refined his writing technique for the better in the second version and expanded on the first book quite a bit. His info can be a little long winded and confusing at times but I think he's spot on for the most part. His 'Honey Hole' where he got most of his info for the books is gone now as far as I know. I was hoping to get another book or two of his to read but he hasn't written anything lately to my knowledge. Scott Haugen also has some good blacktail books out as he hails from the same general area as Boyd in Oregon. Scott's wife, Tiffany, is also a great cookbook writer!

You must have got the second book.

There is only one of the first book available, and it is $106.   :yike:
