Christmas cougar
« on: December 25, 2012, 09:45:02 PM »
Caught a christmas cougar today over in ID.  We got one yesterday, but forgot the camera...so I only had a few lousy cell phone pictures.  My wife came today and made sure we were prepared!  Not a huge cat- but a nice female.  Probably around 100-110 lbs.  Left her to run some other time.

How hard is it to draw a hound permit n ID for cougar?  And do you have to draw the permit to run bobcats? Nice pics by the way.

Most (if not all of Idaho) is over the counter.

Not for the hound hunters permits, they only issue 70 non resident hound hunters permits.  I drew 2 in 10 years of trying.  Yes you need a hound hunters permit to chase anything with hounds in ID, lion, bear, bobcat and even coons.

One of the things I really miss in life is the sound of hounds hot on a cat.   Neat photos.  Thanks for sharing.
