coon hunting
« on: December 26, 2012, 08:36:18 AM »
Went out a few days ago had some good races. Treed a couple coons thought I'd share some pics.  Treed this one in a big hollow cedar tree. He was hiding inside. Couldn't hold my phone and the light in there while taking the picture so all ya get is his glowing eyes.

His dad was a pure bread Cameron. And his mom was walker tri colored but probably had a little bit of everything in her. Most people around here aren't color or bloodline bias. Don't know very many houndsmen in the area with purebreads.

I loved Cameron and Smokey River blueticks.  Best cat dog I every owned was half Cameron, amazing nose and drive.

Yeah couldn't agree more with this one. Been coon hunting for about 10 years. Hardest hunting most determined dog I've ever owned. Never quits and put up some long cold races. Enjoy him as a pal too. He got kennel caugh a few days ago so he's in the house. Kids have been loving him up. He's already over it so back to hunting, but I think he may get to stay in the house.
