Layout blind color
« on: December 26, 2012, 03:55:03 PM »
I am looking at picking up a layout blind for goose hunting E. Wash. Mostly for corn or wheat stubble fields. Which would be the better color for that application, Duck Blind or Max 4?
Or does it matter?
Thanks for the help.

I have a power hunter that is field khaki. I really do not think it matters a whole lot. You wanna put as much brush, grass, sticks etc. on your blind anyways. A really good idea to do is to mud your blind so when the sun hits it, it doesn't look shiny!

I think natural gear camo pattern is one of the easier ones to blend in.  Just make sure you mud it out prior to using it.

Yep, wife thought I was nuts when I did that to my latest pop-up blind in the garage.
Thanks for the input.

:yeah: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:  I do that with all kinds of things.  As soon as I buy it I have to go field test it! Truck, SUV, boots, hunting clothes, knives....... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

If you mud it up good enough you can't really tell what camo pattern it is.   :)

I'm Still learning for sure,  I would hope to never master the art of duck hunting,  but I strive get a little better at it every year.  This way I can still be challenged and enlighted on a regular basis adding to my passion and love for the sport.   as for the day that picture was taken I didn't do too bad.    YMMV.

What do suggest, spatula or shotgun butt for a sweeper?  A flat shovel ain't going to fit in the blind.

Looks like there is a spent shell laying in the mud.  Was Skybuster hunting mud ducks?

Never mind Skagit, his social skills are a little, well, off. That and he thinks he is the only guy that can kill birds.

I just figured he's trying to get his frustrations out since he can't in his normal Internet haunts... :chuckle:

Doesn't matter a bit... Just be sure to brush them in with whatever you are sitting in
