once again!!I pay an admissions fee which allows me to access the event. I do have a CCl and I see a item I want and I chose to purchase it from a dealer! He does a Backround on me this should be a done deal!! No membership dues at all.

Also if I purchase from a dealer and I have all my ducks in a row why do I have to pay this membership?

No, they would not let you. And at this point the argument that it is your right not to pay would probably negate your right to play.  ;)

Sorry if I am dense... Are you saing you have done this, or is this your desired approach?

If I'm visiting my Grandkids on the coast and I see a show and want to go!
Come on grandkids lets go spend some time together. I'm more than legal over here. just seems like a bunch of rings to jump through when I could go to the dealers shop and buy the Dang thing!! Without paying the membership dues!!   :dunno:

It just seems to me that you guys on the wet side are getting the shaft from this WAC. If it's your thing cool I'm not going to judge. But to me it's the same thing as me going to buy a new truck and having to pay a membership to purchase it. Maybe I'm dense, but it just seems like your getting taken advantage of.

True.

The shows offer so much more than a single dealers shop...  The WAC show can be a half day event if you want it too...

Not at all. Imagine going to 40 new car dealers, 100 used car dealers, 200 vintage car dealers all in one place. 'This is what it is like at these shows. Lots of all categories under one roof. Save the gas and go to the show!

That's nothing! I've been known to spend half-a-day at Cabela's without even trying.  :chuckle: :chuckle: Ask my wife! :chuckle:

I think Ice did a fair job at explaining the benefits of the WAC. I also think that the WAC does a couple of other things that have not been pointed out. Gov like to work with intrest groups. Be it the Washington State Archers Association, SCI, DU, the WAC. they deal with less people that have a concise position on a topic. the WAC i believe also did the membership thing as an a pre-emptive solution to the attacks on gun shows. You see this ALOT in industry. Government threatens to impose X law so the association gets out in front of it and creates a standard so that it is better thought out, and has less GOV involvement.
There are LOTS of good upstanding citizens that want a private sale instead of one with a NICS record, even tho they SAY they don't keep one.  :twocents:

I have been a member, I am not one now, and have not been to a show in a few years.  I think the internet is one of the reasons why the show isn't as good as it once was.  :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
