Buyin a new foxpro tonight, but which one HELP!!!!!
« on: December 27, 2012, 05:03:29 PM »
Ok I am looking at either the Prarie Blaster 2 or the Fury 2.  Price is not the concern,  I am leaning towards the Prarie blaster just because of the built in decoy.  Thoughts????????

The only thing I would say is the weight and general size of the Prairie blaster. They are both great calls but, the question is do you want to pack that monster. The other thing is you can add the decoy to the fury if you want and keep the size down.
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." Go with the fury and get the fox jack. A lot lighter to pack and the fox jack is a sweet little decoy.

Save your money. All those fancy callers are all overrated!  Get a pet rabbit. Get a cage. Go to your favorite callin spot and get set up. Set the cage with rabbit out in front. Squill on a dyin rabit call. Nothin comes in take rabbit out and slowly twist its neck. Be very carefull not to break it. You might need the rabbit for the next callin location! :yike: :dunno: :chuckle:

Save your money, get a couple hand calls, and call them right into your lap. the e-callers are overrated. you can call in just as many if not more for 15 bucks. took my best friends 6 year old for the first time, last monday and let him call, gave him 30 seconds of instruction. he called in 4 yotes at one stand. so easy a 6 year old can do it.

So other than the size of the Prarie Blaster, which has the better features?  Wouldn't the speakers of the Prarie blaster be better for open country, to carry the sound further?  Sorry I have no experience with electronic callers.

The fury is plenty loud for me. I just bought a external speaker to use on the really windy days. still a lot better then packing that blaster around. I saw the video for the shock wave and it looks pretty slick.

I have and like the Firestorm. Can add the Black jack decoy and it all fits into a large fanny pack type pack weight isn't excessive and plenty of volume. If at all concerned with price call foxpro and ask about refurbished they still carry the warranty as new

Heck, even my little Foxpro Scorpion is plenty loud.  I bought an external speaker but rarely carry it.  The volume goes from 1 to 10, and most of the time I just use 8 or 9.  They say a coyote can hear a mouse squeak 1/4 mile away, so I don't figure volume to be that big a deal.  I go for portability, because I pack a lot of stuff.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

Well I think that I am gonna either get the shockwave or the fury 2.  That prarie blaster is 9.5 pounds, that would suck to pack.  Thanks for all the advice guys!!!!!!!!

Indeed like I said I won't even pack it on a normal day. Only on the high wind days. There really is no need for more sound then the fury has in 95% of the the situations.

Awesome!

Would be interested to hear how you like it. Particularly, do you notice the extra weight over the Fury and how does the larger size feel after packing around?
