6mm Remington 100gn Partition's

G'day Fella's
Anyone use a 6mm Remington with 100gn Partitions? I've been using 100gn BT Sierra's with ADI 2209 for years on Deer, happy with them but thought I'd Try something different. I've got some Reloader 22 to put behind the partitions.

Years ago I used to use a .243 Win and 100gr Partitions when ever I drew a doe permit for Mule deer. Recovered very few with on side lung shots. The bullet I used before that was the 87gr Hornady boat tail hollow point. Never had one exit but I did find the base of the bullet several times, just under the hide on the off side. They really tore the lungs up but the 100gr partitions hit them harder at distance. I haven't shot a deer with one in quite awhile, I get great performance with Varget powder. It shoots great across the board, weather it's 100 degrees for Groundhogs or the low teens during big game season or calling coyotes.

I have yet to shoot the Accubonds in the .243, since the Accubonds arrival I have shot everything with one Accubond or another. With the acception of a few, that's due to the fact they didn't make a Accubond in that diameter. In my expirience the Accubond gives me Partition terminal performance but with the plus of the boat tail, higher BC and the tip that doesn't deform under heavy recoil in the mag box.

The 6mm Remington compared to the .243 Win is just a little more of a good thing. With the RL-22 you should be able to get some good speed on those 100gr Partitions.👍👍

I took a mule deer once with a .257 DGR and a 100gr Partition at just under 300 yards. It wasn't spectacular, it took the hit. Sat down and then rolled over on its side, I would expect about the same performance from the 6mm/ partition combo.

Can't go wrong with them bob. I have knock down a ton of animals over the years with them. We have killed a few with the 6mm 100g flavor.

I've been using Hornady 87gn BT HP for years on Fallow Deer, very effective but too much meat damage. I just scored some 100gn Partitions would have prefered 95gn as I have a 1:10 twist barrel. Not sure between Re 22 or Re19?
Been using ADI 2209 with the 100gn BT Sierra's @ 3050fps good results but not sold on them.

I've had way more positive results with Hornady's and Nosler's as compared to Sierra's (Game Kings).

What powders are you using with 100gn partition's. I just tested some loads with RL22 great velocity but too much variation like 70fps till I got to 48gns 3210-3212fps 1 1/4" group but bolt lift was getting a little bit stiff. I'll try RL19 or go back to ADI 2209.

My family has used the Hornady Interlock 100 gr bullet in the 243win. I am confident the 100gr Partition will work flawless.

It's been awhile since I reloaded for the 243 but if I remember right bob. I think I was running 40 grains of h4831. I am a big h4831 buff and load it in most everything. What ever the book says I am normaly right in the middle with my loads. I had very good results with the loads but I never played with them much. The 243 we still have we have all shot our first deer with. So it does not get many shells threw it. Pretty much only when a new hunter comes into the ranks

My brother is using RL22 and uses 42gr. I believe.

I believe we are using 40.5 grains of IMR 4350. Pretty accurate. Does a great job on prairie dogs, coyotes and deer.

I'll wait till I get the Partitions, try the RL19 if no good I'll go back to the ADI2209 its served me well over the years, don't know why I'm trying others. I think its a case of all my rifles are shooting perfect and I've nothing to do till I go hunting again!!! ha ha. Partitions will be better of the Fallow Deer than Sierra's.
Our Fallow & Red Deer start rutting in a couple of months so I'll go get some meat off some yearling bucks while they're fat, before the rut.

I need some fallow in my freezer! Best eating deer I have ever had was a 3 year old fallow I shot. I still have red stag in the freezer I have been hoarding!

Your right there mate.
Fallow on good tucker take some beating specially youngish males leading up to the rut. I do a lot of culling on overpopulated farms, they're struggling with a drought at the moment but the Deer are still fat? Must be feeding on the crops by the river of a night time.

Hey Ozzi, I am confident you will have great success with the RL 19. That is a really good powder. I use RL 19 in my .270win and really like the performance.
