dropped the hammer on a rangfinder

So my old rangefinder kicked the can on me. Ive spent the last few weeks looking for one that was capable of 1000yards. I looked at the leupold, nikon, vortex, and bushnell. I was able to compare them side by side with leica zeiss and swaro, I came to see the bushnell g-force was one of the top players and was in the price range I could afford. I liked the  unclutered display and quick range on nonreflective objects out to 600yards. It was able to live scan off clutered angled object and pick up things way better then the vortex or leupold. The vortex and leupold had a hard time getting an accurate range out at 599 yards for some reason. The nikons didnt pick up a tree at all at 599 but did hit at 498. The glass on the bush nell was clear in low light and in full sun. I noticed the nikon and vortex had to scan for a long time where the bushnell you could point push the button and it ranged almost instantly. It was with in a yard of all three highend rangefinders out to 699yards (longest range I had a small object). I have to give it to bushnell for making a great rangefinder that can hang with ones that are twice the money. I should be picking it up after christmas when I pay the layaway off on them

Got it from cabelas retail is 399.99. I was woundering about snow too. Ill have to update after I get it and test it in snow. Ive seen a lot of reviews on it that where good too, I have to say it impressed me.

Interesting. I was about to give Nikon credit: my buddy has the 550 and I have a Leica 900. his could pick up some objects that I couldn't with my Leica, but I definitely like the red display, and how much brighter mine is.

Interesting. I was about to give Nikon credit: my buddy has the 550 and I have a Leica 900. his could pick up some objects that I couldn't with my Leica, but I definitely like the red display, and how much brighter mine is.

Mines a 550 also. It's a very good rangefinder. I just think it can't pick up anything in  the snow because of nothing to bounce off of back to it. When this happens, it's completely white with snow. It will work out to 600 ish if I can get on something big enough to bounce off of.

We have 3 of the Vortex 1000 rangefinders & regularly hit deer, elk trees, etc to 750yds & larger objects to 900yds. Not sure what the difference is in yours but these are the best out of 2 others that I have. I also have the Nikon 550 riflehunter that is good to 500yds, it's a good unit. I also have the leupold 1200 RX model, it's never hit 750yds. Between the 3 the Vortex is the clearest & brightest & 1/3 the size of the other two! Yes I carry them but would not use or recommend them if they did not perform well.

I noticed the vortex was better then the leupold at range too. I need to get the g force out in the field

I have a Bushnell 1500 with Arc....no complaints.  Great piece of equipment .

Leica is still at the top of my list. They had the clearest glass and the rangfinder was fast and simple. I noticed the swaro had a lot of light wash when the rectical was on, you could see little organe spots all over in the optic which is not good for a $999 rangfinder

Cameralandny (Doug) normally has deals on Leica LRF's and CRF's. Couple years ago I bought a 1200 LRF non-scan for $299 and just sold it as Doug had a demo LRF900 scan for $199.

So got it in my hand. Ive hit elk at 759yds and trees at 1059yds. It seems to be doing great and hitting what I point it at. The drop measurement seems to be on for my rifle too which is nice.
