Place to shoot In Snohomish county
« on: December 31, 2012, 06:06:45 PM »
Any ideas on where I can take the wife and kids shooting.  Thought about just going up till we hit National Forest, but any recommendations on where to go would be great.

Anybody?

I used to go out to green Mtn area but looking online I'm seeing that people are getting tickets up there.

I'm on five acres in the county, maybe I'll grab the tractor and put up a burm.

There was a nice shooting lane up on Green Mountain that I would shoot my bow at. When I went up there this summer, the Sheriff dept had closed it. I really don't know if there are any good places left in the county...
I worry about belonging to a club that accepts people like me as members.

Just join a club. Marysville rifle club is 75$ a year.  A ticket for shooting out in the sticks would prob. Cost that much.  Just my opinion
It is what you meant it to be...

I decided to just shoot in the back yard. I'm on five acres in the county.  It was a good test to see how the neighbors react. Of course the Sheriff showed up.
He just wanted to make sure we weren't a bunch of drunks celebrating the new year.  Nosy neighbors have nothing better to do.  Shouldn't of moved to the country if you don't like shooting.

Good to go!!! :IBCOOL:

I live out near you and I built a range out in my yard as well.  Lemme know if you wanna get together sometime and swap range building ideas sometime!  I currently have a 100 yard rifle/pistol range, and I'm in the planning stages for an archery walkthrough range.

That would be awesome.  I just shot the pistols to start with and the AR at close range.  I'll be able to go out to 40 or 50 yds safely,  I have a wet land to deal with.
I just grabbed the tractor and made a burm then put a piece of old carpet on it and plywood in front of that up against an old stump.  Got the  from the sheriff, so it must be good.

For archery, i've been trying to round up 3d targets, just not very many to be had on the used market.

I'm currently off 84th in Getchell, you down that way?

Its not the forrest, but there is the Granit falls sportman club.  :dunno: Its not too far away from you.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Yup, I'm out that way!  I've never had the fuzz out to my place, but folks all around me shoot all the time, so when in Rome...  I'll send you a pm with my contact info.  Always good to meet other folks from here in the area!

BBQ at Joes!

Done!!!!!

I've actually been talking with the wife about that, we have room for a pretty good size get together.  Maybe it's time to start a "Hunt-WA BBQ at Joe's" thread!

You guys have a date or timeframe in mind?  I wasn't sure, since weather is bad...  plus, probably best to give folks some warning so more peeps can make it.

I'm game anytime except couple weekends in Feb.  Annual Tri Cities trip for Walleye  then not much till spring turkey and bear.

except for the yotes and bobcat in my backyard that need to die!!  thinking a night hunt with my bow.  Anybody know if I can put lighted sights on my bow for a night hunt? I'm thinking no, but not sure.

IF you chose to do that and IF I thought that sounded like a lot of fun and IF you actually did I would not post about it.

Maybe we check out your range first, maybe say sometime this weekend, maybe after dark, maybe with boomsticks...?

Range isn't anything special but work in progress.

I'm trying to decide how to go about hunting them at night.

I called in the yote by accident during the day when I was messing with my new call.
I hit the call twice and checked my camera the next day and he was on there at the same time I called.
