No rest for the wicked...Time to scout!!!

Well, now that late archery is over I'm already missing the woods even though I've only been home for about 6 hours. I'd like to start scouting as soon as possible. preferably when I might find some sheds. I've got a couple spots in mind that I'd like to put some cameras in this year.

can someone please enlighten me on when a good time to find sheds is? And also is there a good tactic to finding blacktail sheds in the ferns and under leaves? Perhaps using a dog (if not illegal of course)? I'm assuming I'll want to focus my attention to areas with rubs?

i am starting to scout right away too. figured i would give em a week to settle down from hunting season then out go the cams. do you guys find that the higher you go up mountains or the farther back you go in the woods the more deer you see ?

Man give it a rest.........hahaha you guys got the energy of a 8 year old kid... LOL.  Most the places you finding deer in the next month are not where they will be come september

I wouldn't wait until sheds drop to get out there and scout.  Right now is a great time to go see what made it through the seasons in terms of bucks and bulls.  Theres always a chance you'll pick up some old ones anyways.

I'm mostly just looking to start scouting out potential stand sites for the early season. not looking to find certain animals. Since this was my first year I didn't have any scouting under my belt. I just hunted where others told me to which at least put me on the deer. all those spots are far from home though so I need to start narrowing down local hunts. preferably spots that are easy for me to get to from work. Next year I won't be flying by the seat of my pants. I'll be a dialed in high tech predator.
