HUNT CLUBS
« on: September 15, 2008, 02:37:46 AM »
Quick question!
I know back east you just about have to join a hunting club to find a place to hunt.  Are there hunting clubs here?  If there is, I have never heard of them.

I would consider joining or paying to hunt if there was a good chance at bagging decent animal.

This is coming out of frustration more than anything.  I moved to Washington from Southern Oregon where I grew up and hunted all my life.  I have hunted in Washington in the areas just east of Vancouver/Camas area the last couple of years and have been disappointed.  Of course I could pay the out of state fees and hunt Oregon but that seems a little dumb if you ask me.  I would love to hook up with a buddy or 2 to go east but am still getting to know other hunters in my area.  As you know, guys don't open up too much about there hunting camps or taking new guys with them.  Blah, blah, blah, Yada, yada, yada......
Anyway, would love to here some thoughts from you experts.  ;)

For better or worse washington does have a small number of hunting clubs, do a google search online and you are bound to turn some up.  Lots of public land but if a guy had a little extra cash and wanted to minimize teh competition a hunt club would be the way to go.

try finding deadman creek outfitters, they are in SE Washington, also a search on this sight is bound to turn some up as they have been discussed in the past.

There are some in the East Klickitat unit, and that wouldn't be far if you're in the Vancouver area. I don't know if they advertise anywhere, but I imagine a game warden might know of them and possibly how to get in touch with them. You could also just take a drive and look for all the signs. Go to Goldendale, head east towards Bickleton, and you'll be in the right area. I only know of these because we tried hunting that unit 2 years ago with not much success, because nearly everything was posted by one hunting club or another.
