I might buy the Colman 100qt marine cooler with a gift card I got for christmas.  What size of deer will fit into that quartered?

Antelope is excellent.

Is boning off the meat an option, or are you set on quarters?  I think mine is a 120 quart, I'll have to look in the AM.  I think I could fit a pretty decent sized muley buck in it, quartered.

I was able to fit 1.5 whitetail into an Igloo Cube 60 quart roller cooler at Walmart for less then $30. It also fell with in the dimensions required for shipping back from Arkansas on the airline.  :twocents:

We fit 2 antelope boned in a 100qt and we fit a bag or 2 of mule deer in also. We hang it in the locker in Buffalo WY where we hunt. The day before leaving we  have them put the cooler of bagged meat in the freezer and when we get back to Seatac it's thawed just enough to go through the grinder or cut into steaks and wrapped without having any ice in the cooler to get the meat wet.

I've seen the deer you shoot!  Should be able to get a couple in there :chuckle:

If you leave out the ribs you would be hard pressed to find a deer that won't fit.  I have a 128 quart that has seen one heck of a lot of deer and elk.  It takes one hell of an elk not to go in there boned out.  Minus 28 quarts shouldn't make much difference on a deer.  We had three antelope including their horns and capes in the 120 qt Yeti this year with plenty of room left for ice.

I took notes this year:

"Four doe antelope that weighed about 95 pounds of boned out meat fit in one 120 quart cooler; about 30 quarts per doe antelope, or about 1.2 quarts per pound. "

That was using square meat packages, carefully stacked.

If you're planning to leave the meat in very long, you also need some room for dry ice.

Exactly 100qt's of Deer (any veriety) will fit into a 100qt. cooler. That is unless you hunt in Canada or Europe in which case you'll only get about 94.6353 liters of Deer in there, give or take :-) Once again Google makes me look smart...and I make me look like a *censored*!  :IBCOOL:

I had an entire boned out elk in mine + had room.  If it is boned out and wrapped, you could probably get 2+ deer into it.
