So I have a couple questions ,Was wondering if anyone here has ever purchased a firearm from the gunbroker site and if so how did it go
And also was hoping that someone on here in the pierce county /south king county area who is a FFL may be willing to help me out if i decide to go forward with this purchase
Any feedback and assistance would be greatly appreciated

I've bought a handgun and at least one rifle through one of those places, think it was gunbroker or gunsamerica.  Everything went smoothly.  Can't answer the second part though.  Check pawn shops that carry guns, as I've used one in Centralia before.

I've bought a few off of GB.  All went fine. It's not as good of a deal now that the FFL's are collecting the sales tax.  They didn't use to, but the State started getting on them if I understand correctly.  Between the tax, shipping and FFL fee, it might be cheaper to buy locally unless your getting a hell of a deal or buying something you can't get locally.

Make sure to check the sellers rating, and feedback.  One thing to know is that you can't bid at the last second and snag it.  If you place a bid within a few minutes of the end of the auction, it puts the end date back 15 minutes, allowing the previous high bidder a chance to get back into the game. 

Their site also has a list of FFL's that you can look up by zipcode if no one on here has an FFL.  Right hand column under new user resources.

Auction price as of now plus shipping and whatever tax and FFl fee is still at least $200 cheaper than any local that i have found without the 1 to 2 month wait for availability but it is used compared to new

Gun broker is very simple. Just find your ffl before you get your item. Make sure you ask them if they will do transfers on new and used guns and recive from a private party. Some ffl's will not take all guns.

Been cruising gunbroker for awhile waiting for the right deal to jump out at me. I started looking for an AR right before the prices went sky rocketing up. Found the one I was looking for on gunbroker and won the auction at about 600 dollars less than the current shelf price for the same gun at cabelas.

One purchase off gunbroker and it went fine but it was from a dealer on a used handgun. I used DJ's pawn and loan downtown Puyallup as the FFL. No problems at all but that was a couple years ago. You may want to check with them first.

I've had great luck using gunbroker for both buying and selling. Like others have said, call your FFL and talk to them first, I think last time the transfer fee was $50. I was surprised to have to pay sales tax... it was significant since it was a custom Cooper rifle  had no idea they had changed the law, used to be one of the benefits...

i have been hosed only once guy sold me a scratched up gun. for a FFL the ONLY local place i will use is Cascade pawn n gun in Auburn, a bunch of very nice polite older men, great to deal with and cheapest around, last time i used them it was still $25

Just make sure you factor in FFL fee and sales tax when deciding if it actually is a good deal. A lot of folks don't know about the sales tax thing.

I have used Gunbroker twice 2 different sellers both guns, all went smooth.

I used the link on the left on the main page find an FFL. you put in your zip code and it shows you local FFL's. I picked a couple made calls and decided who to use.

The Sales Tax thing is not new.  It's been on the books for a long time, just not enforced.  when figuring the sales tax on the transaction, be aware that you will pay Sales Tax on the WHOLE cost--shipping and all.....

I was told it was new since March of last year 

All I know for sure is I've bought several guns from there, trasfered them through the same dealer (Cascade Arms, Lacey) and never paid sales tax until the latest purchase. 

A $25 tranfer fee is a pretty sweet deal Kracker, although to be honest I never did much shopping around.
