ACTION ALERT: Abuse of the Freedom of Information Act

ACTION ALERT: Abuse of the Freedom of Information Act

Please write your U.S. and State Representatives to respectfully request that they consider drafting and/or supporting legislation that will prevent the blatant and obvious abuses of the Freedom of Information Act that has been demonstrated by The Journal News in New York with their irresponsible reporting and mapping of the names and addresses of legal firearm permit holders.

http://www.lohud.com/interactive/article/20121223/NEWS01/121221011/Map-Where-gun-permits-your-neighborhood?

The actions of the Journal News are a clear abuse of the Freedom of Information Act and are nothing more than the intentional vilification and attempted intimidation of law-abiding citizens that do not conform to their anti-gun philosophies.  They have put the safety and welfare of the permit holders and their families at risk, and they have also provided a map to every criminal in the world showing which households most likely contain firearms.

The Freedom of Information Act was meant to serve in the best interest of the public, not to be used against law-abiding citizens to promote the agendas of extremist media organizations.  The Journal News abuses of the Freedom of Information Act must be stopped immediately and further abuses prevented by swiftly drafting and enacting corrective legislation.

Thank you.

Please pass this on to others who are willing to take action to protect our freedoms and our privacy.

I think in turn that releasing major knuckle heads that do NOT own firearms and releasing thier names publicly would be fighting fire with fire...

ya
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

This is a very real threat to our rights, our freedoms, our safety, and our privacy.  Now is the time to write our U.S. and State legislators to push for legislation to prevent this type of abuse.

Please take a few minutes to communicate to your representatives about the abuse of the Freedom of Information Act.  Don't let law-abiding gun owners be vilified, intimidated, and placed on public display in a similar manner as sex-offenders.  That’s what is happening here folks.  Stand up for your rights, your freedoms, and your privacy; please take action and oppose this lynch mob.

It only takes a few minutes to communicate to your representatives:

Please write your representatives and pass this on.
Thank you.

I have felt some what un interested in sending letters to our Law makers as of late. That said we need to keep up the pressure, and many of us live in STATE districts that are more pro gun than where some of this nonsense comes from. Make sure your state senators and reps know hoe you feel.

The battles can be discouraging and tiring, but we can never give up.
