IM going to go down with 1200.00.  See if I can get some sweet deals!  I'll offer 100.00 more than the city.

If dummies want to sell their guns to the government I don't have a problem with it. From what I heard this is being paid for with donated funds. What concerns me most is that it is an anonymous buy back, so I see the potential for guns that were used in crimes to be disposed of easily.  :twocents:

You could offer the same or less than the city, those people would take cash over a gift card in a heartbeat!

Playing devil's advocate here, but I gotta say that this seems like the only form of "gun control" that might actually be taking bad guy's guns off the street.  I don't think any self-respecting gun owner with a CWP or someone who hunts is going to consider off-loading their guns at below market value when the market for guns is about as good as it has ever been right now.  City of Seattle has to know this I'd assume...

These are mostly probably going to be the piece of crap guns that gang-bangers exchange on the street and I agree that probably a good number have been used in crimes.  To me it seems that these are the weapons that would be most likely used in a crime in the future.  Of course as someone mentioned, some truly worthless or broken guns might get traded in too, but who cares in that case?

I still think it's a dumb program, but makes more sense than a lot of things.  I also agree that the city should try to turn a profit on usable weapons and auction them off in some way to responsible gun owners.

Myself and a couple of my other friends and gun enthusiasts are planning on going down there with the same idea. We will offer any person double the value they would get from the city for the gun they are willing to give away. The only thing stopping us from 100 percent commitment is this beautiful law we found about public solicitation. Trying to figure out the finer points and loopholes to avoid anymore trouble then we plan on causing just by being there.

I am interested in attending this with some cash too and see what comes up. Picking up a modern sporting rifle in times like these wouldn't be a bad idea.

I just pinged my crack team of attorneys on legalities and will report back.

I will be going up there with a pile of guns that are all worth less than the 100dollars they are paying.  I will be buying a new laptop later that day.  You can call me stupid if you want, but they wont be getting any guns that are worth anything from me.  It is a win win, I get their money and they get to feel better.
There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.

Are muzzle loaders included in the buy back

Wish I could get over there for that I have  a couple I'd give up for $100.00  a piece. My throw a ways in case the intruder didn't have one in his hand when he broke into the house with me home
