Lots of bear sign, but no bear
« on: September 15, 2008, 11:02:56 PM »
I went bear hunting last week from Sept 10 - 12 near Rockport.  Saw bear scat everywhere, but because of the hot weather, we did not see one.  The bear bedding down early.  I was looking forward to bringing Michelle a pelt to get a bear rug made  :dunno:  Oh well, I will be out again  :chuckle:

Keep at it. If there is sign and feed they will be there. Good luck.

They are there. Oh, they are there.

I left it better than I found it...did you?
I hunt animals because veggies are too easy to stalk.

I agree. Keep at it if you seen fresh sign and food.

Got my first bear this year. One thing I learned is how well they can hear. If they hear anything out of the ordinary sometimes they just bail like a bat outta hell. They move real fast.

Good luck. Hope you connect.  :hunter:

Sigh, I won't be out hunting until my deer hunt in late October   :'(  Crappy summer made the berries come out late.  Where I was at the berries were just coming out.  I appreciate all the encouragement.  I sure would have liked to have bagged a Yogi  :chuckle:
