New Tent (home-sewn)
« on: May 03, 2013, 04:27:10 PM »
I took the tarp from an old cheap tent and purchased some polyurethane coated ripstop for about $7/yard and then bought some lightweight stakes.

The door is velcro.

Total cost (not including threads) $67

Fits two people and gear, weighs 3.4 lbs

It's not as pretty as some but it sure saved some money and I wanted something a little bigger than the average two-person tent.   thanks for looking.

My concern would be condensation.  Good effort.

Oh yes it does...I had to add a screen to it already.  It doesn't condensate as much now.

The tarp from another camping tent is what I used for the bottom and I have a footprint that I bought for $4.97 on clearance that will keep the tarp in good condition.  It's 66" wide in the front and 84" long.  Of course it tapers, I think the middle section is 53" wide.
