nd wine about some dude main a " threat" via the Internet...Cuz that NEVER happens!  Its the Internet for Christ sake....odds this guy EVER is within 2 miles of the "poor" man he "threatened" ZERO %.... Like the cops and FBI don't have bigger fish to fry....what a joke..what an embarrassment to this site

However, you are ignoring the fact that while this threat is made specifically to Shane... it would appear this guy is a threat to any hunter that may cross his path... of course he is probably just an internet tough guy.. but it is still something that should be addressed and not near the joke or embarrassment you say it is... It only takes a simple logical deduction to realize that this thread is geared towards people hunting animals in general. That being the case this guys should definitely receive a visit from law enforcement and lose his government job.   

Like I said.....there is zero chance this guy and the " threatened" are ever within a milenof each other....complete and utter rediculousness

I just read all the 10 pages posted so far. Several observations:

1) Internet threats must be a PITA for LEOs. They can range from just plain stupid, to malicious, to deadly serious. The only way to really determine the seriousness takes a lot of investigation. That said, this still should not be taken lightly. There could be a variety of reasons why your requests for help seem to fall on deaf ears. I won't even try to speculate on those reasons. I believe it would be in your interest to continue to be persistent.

2)  You've been getting lots of advice from this forum. I have heard no one suggest contacting an attorney. That would probably be a better source of legal opinion. I'd look for someone who is familiar with harassment violations and, better yet, someone familiar with interstate harassment and firearms violations.

3) This perp claims to have a gun but says he lives (or at least tracks to) D.C. Isn't even the possession of a gun in D.C. illegal? Yet another reason to contact an attorney.

This could be anything from a bored kid hacking away in his parent's basement to someone who is seriously disturbed and willing and able to act out on threats. We have plenty of recent experience in the news with the latter. Take this seriously and get some legal help to plan your next move. Good luck.
