Wouldn't surprise me if Ruger's stock (RGR) goes up over the next 6 months to a year.  :twocents:

I don't see it as price gouging. An assault rifle, or whatever you wish to call it, is not a necessity. It's not something that you have to buy just to survive, like food and gasoline. I don't own an AR-15 and I haven't had the urge to suddenly go out and buy one. The people who are buying them now, are buying them because they want them, not because they need them.
agreed they think they need them because they have been lead to believe they wont be able to buy them and they FEAR they might not have one.....and the Jonses will ;)

price gouging happens its part of marketing and part of the market, if you are offended by the terminology I say thats a personal problem, no reason to be offended by the term....

I think it will be cute when prices come down just like the housing market and all kinds of people are holding objects worth less than they paid.....just a smaller mortgage/housing market scenario....

How many here bothered to realize the housing market was also artificially inflated and didn't play  :dunno: :dunno:

It certainly doesn't offend me by calling it gouging.

If someone is willing to pay $600 for a stripped lower... Go for it. Obviously that person thought it was worth it or they wouldn't have bought it. If the ban goes through they could very well be worth that...unlikely, but its possible.

The housing market analogy is a good one I think, but again, I wouldn't blame the neighbors for asking 100k more than they bought the house for. The market will determine whether it is a fair price or not.

I just find it funny when people gripe about high prices and call it "price gouging" as if it's a criminal act, yet they willingly pay those high and "unfair" prices.   :chuckle:

If you feel the price is too high, DON'T BUY IT!   :chuckle:

When the price of gold started going through the roof, was that considered price gouging? Just curious...

All this talk of price gouging almost makes me laugh, but it's really not very funny.

Glad you were able to get your hands on a few.
Where's the Wall Street pit for P-Mags?
P-Mag futures?
Settlement requirements?
Delivery requirements?
Can I hold P-Mags in an IRA?
Do Govt-Issued P-Mags have higher value than the raw P-Mags?
Are local dealers buying P-Mag scrap and melting it down and purifying for re-sale/re-use?

Oh jeez. Your over "thinking" never ceases to amaze me! At least you're good for a laugh now and then.  :chuckle:
Yeah, I do over-analyze sometimes.

What would you think if I drove up some backcountry road and saw you and your truck in a ditch, and offered to pull you out for $200?
It's a long, cold walk back to town.....

I have pulled many people out. Never asked a dime. Actually I'd be afraid to accept money. If they're paying you and their vehicle winds up getting damaged I'd fear the lawsuit.

Your going to be waiting awhile or paying much more when that "Executive Order" gets stuffed in your face. Count your change and buy now. People paying these prices now are just being penalized for what they should have already had. Sort of like minimum wage, it's just a penalty for lack of a trade, education or self motivation.

My suggestion other than buying, is to get what you have under a trust. If you read between the lines, it will save your Azz firearms wise if this wreck becomes a reality.

If you look you can find ARs and Magazines for the same price as before Newtown.  I just bought a new S&W M&P MOE Magpul Spec Series for $975.  You can get magpul magazines for $14.95.  Now that a lot of the panic buying is done you can find them.  Granted if they sign an executivce order you will see another round of panic buying.  LOOK and you can find the parts and deals.  We are months away from legislation or any ban, there will be another lull before the next storm but I would have the money on hand and jump when you find them, I wouldn't wait very long that's for sure.

 :yeah:

Keep buying ammo.

I am predicting that two possible executives orders will be
1. Heavy restrictions on online ammo sales ( via postal regulations )
2. Banning imports of foreign ammo. Don't be myopic: even if you don't buy foreign ammo, if Jim over there looses his source of ammo, there will be more demand for the domestic stuff.

 Prices will increase.

I suspect if someone were to dig deep enough, they'd find several (mostly Democratic) politicians that own stock in firearms and ammunition companies...

But Remington or Winchester aren't firearms rel....oh haha...You are so true! I bet some of there is a lot of "liberal" politicians with stock in a company or two and even something like ATK.
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming
