We have 500 acres on Satus Creek and I would give  you 50 Bucks to find a pheasant!! There are none to be found on this part of the Rez. I shot a coyote from the house yesterday at 320 yards. The 270wsm made a nice exit hole.

Second hatch must not have too bad! We saw plenty of birds around and managed to get a few. Most of the birds are young and not fully plumed so identification was tuff. Most flushes ended with a no shoot. You could tell the young birds from the seasoned ones ( they flushed 200 yards away ). Opening day gave us 3 roosters 4 quail and 5 roosters missed. Definately not what it has been but I think better than last year.

I ended up shooting a limit on Sat morning.  Having said that I still think the hatch is below average.  Maybe not as bad as first thought but still nothing to write home about.  I'm still gonna go out though cuz there seems to be better than average numbers of quail.
