I'll add another to that one. Taken a little over 40 miles off shore, we tucked tail and ran!

This was halibut fishing out of Lapush. We actually had great weather until we could see this front coming late morning, once it finally hit there were 3-5ft wind waves and building. Reminded me exactly of a day 3 years prior, where a storm front was much larger than NOAA predicted and came a lot sooner... however this small storm cell wasn't predicted whatsoever.

I've been in the mountains when a few of these erupted.....quite different from the ocean I imagine, but will make you understand the power of nature or God.

Its a little different feeling but I know what you mean Bone. We were camped out in an alpine saddle one summer and had been looking for a water source in the dark after we setup camp, and noticed a good size storm coming our way. Lots of lightning and dark clouds...sure has a way of making you feel small and insignificant.

nothing as humbling as a rip roaring storm on the ocean, big waves, big wind, big rain and nowhere to hide
